UPDATE Thursday: Fire investigation officers are returning to the scene of a Herron house fire.
The fire broke out shortly after 2pm Wednesday and in less than an hour, completely engulfed the home with fire fighters prevented from accessing the home after the ceiling collapsed.
No one was home at the time of the blaze.
A neighbour saw the fire at the property and alerted emergency services.
The investigation officers will return to the home on Thursday to try and determine a cause.
The damage bill has been estimated at $300,000.

4.30PM: A home in Herron has been destroyed after a fire broke out shortly after 2pm.
The single-storey home on Clifton Downs Road was fully engulfed when fire crews arrived after a neighbour called 000.
The ceiling collapsed at the home after 30 minutes leaving fire crews to battle the fire externally.
"All persons are accounted for," a DFES spokesperson said.
Crews are currently mopping up at the site with a damage bill yet to be estimated.
At this stage there is no word on what caused the fire.

2.30PM: A home in Herron is currently on fire with crews battling to save the property
A 000-call was made about 2.20pm with fire fighters racing to the scene.
The single-storey property on Clifton Downs Road is fully engulfed in the fire with crews from Falcon, Lake Clifton, Mandurah and Southern Districts at the scene.
There has been no word on any persons possibly inside the home at the time of the blaze.
