UPDATE: A 65-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist failed to negotiate a bend on Old Bunbury Road before he skidded down an embankment and struck a boulder.
The man died at the scene after the force of hitting the boulder propelled him into a power pole.
According to police the man was part of a group of riders travelling on Old Bunbury Road in Lake Clifton about 3.50pm Saturday.
The man, from Merriden, was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound about one kilometre from the Tuart Grove Avenue turn-off when he attempted to overtake another rider and lost control.
He slid off the roadway and onto gravel before he went down the embankment.
Major crash investigators are appealing for any travelling on the Old Bunbury Road in Lake Clifton around the same time who may have witnessed the crash or seen the Harley Davidson motorcycle prior.

SATURDAY 6PM: A MAN has died following a motorcycle crash on Old Bunbury Road on Saturday.
The accident happened just before 4.30pm near Forrest Highway.
Major Crash officers have been called to investigate.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
