7AM UPDATE: A 39-YEAR-OLD Mandurah man has been charged after allegedly deliberately striking the police helicopter with a laser during a police search for a man after a domestic incident on Monday night.
The police helicopter was called in an effort to find a man who fled the scene of a domestic in Halls Head but while on patrol, the helicopter was targeted by a green laser beam multiple times.
"As the patrol concluded, the helicopter was again struck by the green laser beam several times," a police spokesperson said.
Onboard crew members were able to direct officers on the ground to a home on Forward Street in Mandurah.
The 39-year-old man will appear in court at a later date.
At this stage, there is no update on the domestic incident.

8PM: POLICE have called in the air wing this evening following an assault on a woman in Halls Head.
The incident happened a short time ago on Hungerford Avenue.
A woman has sustained a head injury after being hit by a man with the handle of a shopping trolley.
Police said the assault was a domestic incident and not a random attack.
The man has fled the scene and police are conducting patrols.
There is no warning in place for residents.
Police said the victim's injuries are not serious.
Inquiries are continuing.
