RESIDENTS should keep a look out come August for a bright red Hyundai i20 with ‘L’ plates because it may just be the winner of this year’s Duck Race.
Fifteen-year-old Lili Hanley took out first prize in this year’s race and picked up her winnings on Wednesday.
Although Lili hasn’t got her learner’s permit yet, she said she’s looking forward to driving the car when she does and has already priced up how much it will cost to get roof racks to fit her surfboard.
“I was really surprised and shocked as well when I found out,” she said.
Both Lili and her brother had tickets in the Duck Race, bought for them by their dad.
“My brother thought he won when we found out,” Lili said.
“He said: ‘Lili don’t lie to me’.”
Mandurah Hyundai’s sales manager, Rick Cocken said he hoped Lili enjoyed learning in the car and that it was a great car to start off driving in.
