Fire bomb accused fronts court

A 22-YEAR-OLD Warnbro man made a brief appearance in Mandurah Magistrates Court this morning following a ‘fire bomb’attack on a car overnight.

Brayden John Tomich faced court charged with damaging property, criminal damage by fire and threaten to kill.

Prosecutor Jim Scott sought to amend the arson charge to attempt criminal damage by fire and indicated the charge of threaten to kill may be amended.

Police were called to a disturbance on Acheron Road in San Remo about 10.30pm where it will be alleged a Molotov cocktail was thrown into a vehicle following an argument.

Tomich requested bail and said he didn’t believe he was a risk.

He said part of the reason why the incident happened was his problem with drugs and alcohol.

He was not required to enter pleas to the charges.

Magistrate Vivien Edwards granted Tomich bail with a $5000 personal undertaking and protective conditions.

He is due to face Mandurah Magistrates Court tomorrow pending legal advice.
