THIS Sunday, November 11, Australians will observe one minute’s silence in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts as part of Remembrance Day.
For Mandurah RSL members Ray Hinde, Bob Allen, Tony Fletcher and Dave Mabbs the significance of Remembrance Day is more than most.
With more than 100 years of combined service between them, the veterans will be selling red poppies around Mandurah on Friday to commemorate the occasion.
“Over the last 20 years the day has become more significant,” Mr Allen said.
Mr Fletcher said it was good to see more and more children becoming involved in the day.
The group will also attend the Mandurah Remembrance Day service held at the Mandurah War Memorial.
