Peel Thunder Football Club chief executive officer John Herbert Ditchburn told the Mandurah Magistrates Court on Wednesday his decision to drive with a blood alcohol level of .083 was “stupid”.
Ditchburn had entered an endorsed plea of guilty to the charge prior to his appearance.
Police prosecutor Tamara Read told the court Ditchburn was stopped by police for a random breath test while driving a Holden Sedan along Ormsby Terrace at 6.30pm, on June 1.

Senior constable Read said Ditchburn was also charged with driving with a blood alcohol level of more than .08 in 1972.
However, the charge did not affect sentencing because of the length of time between each offence.
Magistrate Anne Longden told the court Ditchburn was otherwise a law abiding citizen.
Ditchburn was fined $500 and his licence was disqualified for six months.
He became chief executive officer of Peel Thunder in May 2015 after being president for six years.
