A quartet of Mandurah swimmers and their crew ticked completing the Rottnest Channel Swim off their to-do lists when they made the crossing over the weekend.
The Watervale Water Wombats comprised of youngsters Milly Cleveland (15), Ben Roots (16), Ronan Hayes (16) and Chloe Thomas (14) along with skipper Dave Stewart, crew member Mark Thomas and paddler Damion Jones, who completed the swim in a total five hours, 22 minutes.
With an aggregate age of just 61, the team was one of the youngest to take part in the swim.
The wombats spent months training in the lead-up to the event and were supported greatly by local business Watervale Ceilings, who provided the support boat and put in the hours skippering it.
The youngsters were awarded with medallions for their efforts.
