Local netball gun Ella Sigley will be out to impress elite level scouts when she dons WA’s black and gold at the upcoming 2018 under 17s National Netball Championships.
The young wing defender will fly out to Adelaide with the WA squad in April as she prepares to represent the state’s netball sector for the fifth time.
She will take on all other states at the tournament, playing two full games every day across a five-day span, with the possibility of playing finals should the West Aussie team progress.

Sigley has been training the house down in preparation for the carnival, travelling to Perth four times a week since September and even waking up at 4.30am each Wednesday for morning sessions.
Her rigorous regime has also included state league training with the Perth Lions ahead of the coming season, all the while juggling year 12 studies back in Mandurah.
But the Mandurah Netball Association product said she wouldn’t have it any other way, as she continues to pursue her dream of representing Australia on netball’s world stage.
“The under 17s training is harder than any other state level I’ve played in before,” she said.
“It’s really hard work, but I’m really enjoying pushing myself to new levels and seeing how far I can go.
“I want to play for Australia and this is a good chance to impress some of the selectors, so I’ve just got to keep going hard.
“I’m really looking forward to getting over to Adelaide and getting on the court.”
The 16-year-old young gun said she will feel right at home in South Australia, having spent time growing up in the state.
“I’ve got some family coming to watch me play and I’m really excited to see them all again,” she said.
“Hopefully I can play well for them and the Australian selectors.”
Sigley flies out to Adelaide on Sunday, April 15, with competition kicking two days later on the Tuesday.
Finals will be played on Sunday, April 22.
