West Coast Fever have completed a clean sweep of the Queensland Firebirds in pre season, following an dominant five goal victory at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre today.
The final score was West Coast Fever 65 to Queensland Firebirds 60.
After an 11-goal win yesterday, Fever were eager to continue their strong run of form, with towering shooter Jhaniele Fowler once again impressive in the goal circle today.
After a back and forth opening term, Fever put their noses in front at the first break, leading by one goal, thanks to some strong shooting from Fowler and young gun Kaylia Stanton.
Young West Australian goal keeper Annika Lee-Jones was impressive on Romelda Aiken, forcing the Jamaican to earn every shot on goal.
The Firebirds edged in front in the second term, before the home side, buoyed by a sell out Mandurah crowd, evened the scores at half time.
Head coach Stacey Marinkovich turned to her bench in the second half, injecting Nat Medhurst into Goal Attack and Training Partner Jess Eales into Wing Defence.
With Jess Anstiss controlling the midcourt in the Centre position, Fever's feeds into the goal circle were effortless, while Medhurst showcased her class and poise, combining strongly with Fowler in the goal circle.
An impressive third term saw Fever lead by two goals at three quarter time, before a strong start to final stanza from the visitors saw the scores level out once again.
Fever's defensive pressure was second to none in the fourth term, with Jess Anstiss, Jess Eales and Ingrid Colyer impressive in the midcourt, while Courtney Bruce and Stacey Francis continued to shutdown dangerous shooter Romelda Aiken.
A timely hand from Eales to intercept a centre pass with less than five minutes to play saw Fever skip out to a five goal lead, which they held onto until the final whistle.
Marinkovich said it was exciting to record two wins across the weekend, and urged the West Australian community to throw their support behind the team.

"We built on a few things from our game yesterday, and that's what it's all about," Marinkovich said.
"We're playing an exciting brand of netball and it's the West Coast Fever way of playing and that's what we want to challenge teams with."
"We need our supporters, we have a great home crowd, and to have people come down and see the brand of netball that's going to be displayed in Suncorp Super Netball is something you don't want to miss out on."
Fever will now travel to Sydney in March for their final bout of pre season matches, before returning home to finalise their preparations for the season proper.
The match was also made possible by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, the City of Mandurah and the Mandurah and Peel Tourism Organisation.
Tickets to Fever's first three home games at Perth Arena went on sale last Friday, with the Club already seeing strong support for their matches against the Magpies, Giants and Thunderbirds.
