Mandurah’s iconic boardwalk is about to be ripped up and replaced with a new spick and span structure and the City’s council has lined up a contractor to do the job.
As part of stage two of the Mandurah Foreshore Boardwalk Remediation, renovation works will include the removal of the old decking and joists, the abrasive blasting and coating of the steel substructure, installation of new hardwood timber joists and a merbau deck to match stage one.
The works were discussed at the City of Mandurah’s February 13 council meeting.
At the meeting, Mandurah Jetty Construction was revealed as the preferred tenderer.

City of Mandurah invited tenders for stage two of the Mandurah Foreshore Boardwalk Remediation on November 18, 2017.
The tender closed at 2pm on December 19.
By the close of deadline, only two tenders were received.
One from Mandurah Jetty Construction and the other from Engineered Water Solutions Pty Ltd, which is based in Willetton.
It’s unclear at this stage when the works will be undertaken.
Stage one of the remediation included work to the boardwalk adjacent to Dome and San Churro’s.
The final stage will involve work from the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre to the Stage Door Waterfront Restaurant.
To commence works the tenderer must receive a final tick of approval from council at its next meeting on February 27.
