The twenty-first annual Act-Belong-Commit YOH Fest has officially opened registrations and organisers are looking for impressive and creative performances by youths from across Australia.
YOH Fest was first established in Mandurah in 1997 to equip local young people in making positive lifestyle choices, and build self confidence and leadership skills.
Since then, it has grown into a state-wide tour that has empowered thousands of students across Western Australia and the Northern Territory to share stories on the health issues most relevant to them, discover talent and passion, learn about leading a healthy lifestyle, and connect with their peers and broader community.
Combining health education with the fun of the performing arts, the festival gives youths an opportunity to express themselves, explore important health issues, and experience the thrill of being on stage in a state-wide competition.
The 2018 theme is “Pushed to the limit”.
The brief is based around being pushed to a limit, whether that relationships, the environment or comfort zones.
Organisers said it was up to participants to interpret, as long as it involved pushing the boundaries.
Everything and everybody has a limit. Relationships, the environment, comfort zones...the list is endless. Sometimes it is good to push the boundaries, but what happens when we go so far that a breakdown occurs? Will this lack of care catch up to us?

Home to the festival, the Peel has seen its deal of incredible performances by youths.
In order to make 2019 better than previous festival, organisers have urged youths to nominate.
