Massive flames brought under control in Bunbury after Sunday night blaze
Smoke from a large blaze in Bunbury on Sunday evening blanketed the south-west city and prompted warnings from the Department of Fire and Emergency Services.
Firefighters were called just after 7.20pm with flames spotted near the intersection of Bussell Hwy and Washington Avenue.
Twenty fire trucks attended as the fire's location provided difficulties for crews to access.
A smoke hazard warning was also issued for people in Withers and surrounding areas.
Members of the public entered Hay Park to witness the blaze, with crews forced to warn spectators to keep a safe distance.
The fire was contained by 2.30am and brought under control by 4am.
Crews remained on site on Tuesday to inspect and clean up the fireground.
