A Coodanup family is lucky to be without injury after a large tree fell onto the roof of their house causing minor structural damage on Thursday afternoon.
A three-person Mandurah SES team was called to the Steerforth Drive home about 4pm, where they taped off the area and assisted in removing the debris.
It is understood occupants of the home were trimming the tree when a six-metre branch snapped off, landing on the roof.
Mandurah SES unit media officer Bec Burns said the tree had been worn down from wind and rain earlier in the week.
“The small storms earlier in the week really weakened the tree so it was ready to fall,” she said.
“It was a pretty big break – we had a team there for about three hours.”
