The Peel Cricket Association will be searching for more female athletes to join its women’s competition at an open day this Friday, January 19.
The association kicked off its first ever women’s competition with a T20 match between Hillman and a combined Secret Harbour-Warnbro side early last November, and is now looking to expand and recruit more female talent at the open day.
Forming another team for the league will be at the forefront of the league’s mind, according to operations manager Rob Wallace.
“All three of the clubs currently represented in the league come from outside Mandurah, so ideally we’d like to change that,” he said.
“Getting a team from Mandurah involved is certainly something we want, but at this stage we’re just trying to spread the word as much as we can.”
The open day kicks off at Shoalwater Oval from 5pm. Email peelcricketassociation@gmail.com for more.
