Mandurah Aquatic Recreational Centre will host the Suncorp Super Netball side and Queensland Firebirds in a pre-season match in February.
On Thursday, West Coast Fever and City of Mandurah announced their partnership at the centre.
Mandurah mayor Rhys Williams said the City had pitched in $8,000 to help bring the event to the centre.
“We’ll be recouping that from ticket sales and the like,” he said.
“We have a really solid netball scene here in Mandurah.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for the City to promote elite women’s sport, and we’re extremely proud to support this event.
“It’s going to be amazing for all the young crew involved in the scene, to be able to come down and meet their role models, be inspired, [and] see the importance of getting involved and taking part in their local sports.”
Mr Williams said the centre had the capacity of hosting 615 people at the match.
West Coast Fever head coach Stacey Marinkovich said the facilities in Mandurah were ideal for the match.
She said it would be a good opportunity to inspire younger players in the regions.
“There’s a lot of talent that comes from the south west,” she said.
“We’ve got players that have come from the regions.”
Fever’s loyal regional supporters will also be rewarded with a community clinic and open training session, ahead of the clash with the three-time National League champions on February 25.
The clinic will be held on February 21 from 4-6pm, before throwing the doors open to training from 6.30 – 8.30pm.
West Coast Fever executive officer Tamara Sheppard thanked the City of Mandurah and the State Government for their ongoing support.
“We take great pride in representing all of Western Australia on the National stage, and look forward to giving back to our fans in Mandurah,” she said.
The match is also made possible by the State Government’s Country Sport Enrichment Scheme through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.
Ticketing information for the match will be communicated in the coming weeks.
