The Ashes came a day early to Perth as Test cricket's second greatest rivalry played out at Wembley Sports Park on Wednesday.
The Barmy Army, known more for their unwavering passion to the English cricket team, went head to head with The Richies, the growing group of white-haired, beige jacket-wearing Aussies who adore the late, great Richie Benaud.
The Barmy Army won the toss and chose to send the Richies in first, weltering in the sweltering heat to lose by 30 runs to the Aussies in a Twenty20 match with much bling but little zing.
The Richies now lead 3-0 in the series against the Barmy Army.
The current Ashes series, which continues with the Third Test at the WACA on Thursday, will be the last-ever Ashes match to be staged at the iconic Perth ground.
