Mandurah MP David Templeman has presented the Mandurah Concert Band with a $6217 Lotterywest grant to support volunteer musicians and public performances in Mandurah.

“The Mandurah Concert Band has a strong history in the region,” he said.

“They have won several awards and have played at many important events, such as the opening of the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre.

“The concert band performs at a number of important annual civic events including our much loved Australia Day celebrations.

“I am also very proud patron of the Mandurah the Concert Band and the Lotterywest grant will assist in the further development of Mandurah’s cultural sector and support our local musicians to continue to learn and improve.”

The Mandurah Concert Band has had their equipment trailer refurbished thanks to a partnership grant from Alcoa.

They will be performing on the Mandurah Foreshore as part of the City’s Christmas celebrations on December 12.
