All good stories come to an end, and as such, so does my time at the Mandurah Mail.
But what a ride it has been!
Since joining the Mail crew in April this year, I’ve been able to meet some of the most amazing people this region has to offer.
I’ve had the chance to interview mayors, politicians and prime ministers, and shoot basketball grandfinals, sod turning ceremonies and even a shark attack.
Read some of my favourite stories:
During my time at the Mail I’ve also seen our tabloid win Newspaper of the Year at the 2016 PANPA Awards, senior journalist Nathan Hondros take a WA Media Awards home and sports journalist Justin Rake score an SBL accolade.
I’ve also been fortunate enough to win a couple of accolades myself.
This whole year and a half has certainly been a learning curve, but also one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
I’ve found a home far away from home – I am originally from Catalonia – and I’ve surrounded myself with an amazing family of talented people.
Leaving this town feels almost like a relationship break-up, but I am also very excited for the times ahead.
From November on, I will be travelling across Asia and Europe in the search for a new journalism adventure and a chance to build up on my reporting skills.
However, I am hoping to come back to this not-so-sleepy coastal town in the future to see the amazing things Mandurah has achieved in the time I’ve been away.
Mandurah, thank you very much for letting me tell your stories.
It has been an absolute pleasure!
