Mandurah carers were treated to luncheon and mini concert on Thursday, as a way of saying thank you and offering respite during National Carers Week.
The event was run by Silver Chain, with the help or local businesses and organisations.
Silver Chain community care manager Lesley Balkwill said it was a pleasure to host the event.
“This is our second year for our luncheon that we do for the carers who we provide services for,” she said.
“We just try and make it a really nice day for our clients.”
Silver Chain provide services to around 2500 clients in the region.

Social centre coordinator Mandy Holmshaw said National Carers Week was a great opportunity to thank local carers.
“We provide the luncheon each year to celebrate the carers for everything they do,” she said.
“It's just about giving something back to the carers.
“Because they are twenty-four seven carers. Their time is very limited.
“We can actually support them with free time.
“We get entertainment in and we ask the community if they will donate for raffle prizes. We do that as door prizes so there’s no cost for the carers either.”
She thanked Mega carpets and flooring, Reading Cinemas, Stage door on the waterfront, Nom Nom Cupcakes, Pickled Partners, Michael G giftware, Dooleys dog treats and accessories who donated to the raffle.
“We’ve got clients in the social centre from the community as well, so that the carers can actually enjoy the luncheon and not worry about what’s happening with there loved one.
“We’ve just set it up so that they have… a stress free day [where] they don’t have to worry what’s happening with that person because they know they’re having activities in the centre. They’re all going out for lunch today as well, so they’re having a trip out.”
Community Services Minister Simone McGurk acknowledged the carers who make a contribution to Western Australia that often goes unnoticed.
Ms McGurk said the week was an opportunity to show support and highlight the significant difference carers make to people's lives and the broader community.
"There are about 320,000 unpaid carers in Western Australia looking after family members and friends with a huge range of needs,” she said.
"Carers make an enormous contribution to our state that often goes unnoticed, and National Carers Week is about showing our support and giving thanks for all that they do.”
