South Yunderup dirt kart racer Joe Chalmers continued to show his class on the track when he claimed a victory at the Australian Dirt Kart Championships in South Australia earlier this month.
Racing in the KT Medium class, Chalmers was able to overcome his rival and hero Ben Brown on his way to a monumental win for the young racer.
Claiming enough points to secure pole in the final, the 20-year-old was never rivaled in the eight-lap final and streaked away to a comfortable win over Jake Kervers with Brown coming in third.
Chalmers' weekend didn’t start off the best, after a mishap in his 200 open class practice session caused him to tip.
But both he and the kart were able to escape damage and hold steady to take the win.
His younger brother Nathan Chalmers also secured a podium place in the 125 Light category and can now proudly display the A3 on his kart along with his brothers Newley acquired A1.
The duo and their Team BCM Motorsport group will now begin testing for the upcoming WA titles to be held at the Busselton Kart Club in mid November.
