Police sergeant to face Mandurah court on child sex charges

Child Abuse Squad detectives have charged a 41-year-old man as a result of an investigation into allegations of child sex offences.

It will be alleged the man sent a boy inappropriate images of a sexual nature.

The man is a sergeant with the WA Police Force and works in the Perth metropolitan area.

He has been stood down from duty.

He has been charged with:

  • Using an electronic communication with intent to expose a person aged under 13 years of age to an indecent matter, and
  • Encourage a child to do an indecent act.

He will appear before the Mandurah Magistrates Court on Friday, October 20.
