Mandurah MP David Templeman and Murray-Wellington MP Robyn Clarke are calling on Health Minister Roger Cook to ensure that a Sustainable Health Review community forum is held in Mandurah as part of the consultation process his review into WA’s health system.
Mr Cook announced the review in August as part of his plan to deliver “patient first, innovative and sustainable health system for all Western Australians”.
Mr Templeman said the process would inform future decisions about the way the health is managed and delivered.
“I have already urged local stakeholders and the general public in the region to consider making submissions to the Sustainable Health Review,” he said.
“But now I want the panel that is conducting the review to hear first-hand from local people about our needs from our health system.
“I will ensure our local community is informed of the date, time and venue for our Sustainable Health Review Community Forum as soon as it has been determined.”
Mrs Clarke said is was important the review encompassed the future of Murray Districts Hospital.
“It is important that all health services in the region, including Murray Districts Hospital are part of a Sustainable Health plan for the Peel Region,” she said.
Public submissions to the Sustainable Health Review can be made at www.health.wa.gov.au/sustainablehealthreview.
