Magic veteran Casey Mihovilovich is no stranger to Women’s State Basketball League grand finals.
Mandurah has played in four WSBL finales, and the 400-plus gamer has laced up her kicks in all of them.
She is one of just three Magic players that will take to the court with grand final experience, joining Rachel Halleen and Bree Klasztorny.
But she hasn’t played on the league’s biggest stage since 2009, when the Magic were ousted by Willetton.
Now, Mihovilovich returns to SBL promise land.
“It feels fantastic to be back, and we can’t wait to get out on the court,” she said.
“It’s a huge achievement to make the grand final so we’re all thrilled to be playing in it.”
Grand finals haven’t been kind to Mihovilovich, who has suffered losses in her four appearances.
But the Magic legend is keeping a level head going into this clash with the Hawks.
“I think all we can do is prepare as best we can and then go play,” she said.
“The way I see it, we get another game, another chance to play the game we love before the season ends.”
Mihovilovich had nothing but praise for her fellow teammates, lauding the group’s camaraderie.
“I feel great heading into the game, because I know I’ve got great teammates,” she said.
“Even for girls like Nici (Gilday) and Carly (Boag) to come in as imports or restricted players and totally buy into the Mandurah culture has just been amazing.”
“When you join our team you’re not just part of the Mandurah Magic, you becoem part of the entire Mandurah community.”
The Magic’s grand final against the Hawks tips off at the Bendat Basketball Centre this Friday night, 7.30pm.
The grand final is a ticketed event. Tickets can be purchased online at ticketmaster.com.au by searching SBL.
