A 65-year-old man is in a critical condition after being hit by a school bus in Applecross on Saturday evening.
The man is believed to have stepped into the path of the minibus as it travelled on Canning Highway at around 5.20pm.
9 News Perth reporter Rebecca Johns said the bus had been transporting 20 schoolchildren on an excursion from Marble Bar when the incident occurred.
"Police have told me the man apparently didn't see the mini bus as it came towards him, it's understood he was dragged for close to 40 metres underneath the bus on Canning Highway," she said.
The man suffered severe leg injuries in the incident, and was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital for priority treatment.
The bus driver is assisting police with the inquiries.
