Netball finals in the Peel Football and Netball League kicked off with a bunch of thrilling matches last Friday night, with four of the six matches decided by six points or less.
In the league, Waroona was able to overcome a spirited Pinjarra side 48-42.
The win books Waroona’s ticket to the grand final while Pinjarra will get a second chance against Baldivis, who ended South Mandurah’s season with a 55-43 win in the elimination game.
The reserves saw the top-two teams fight out a nail-biter, with South Mandurah just beating Baldivis 57-55.
Baldivis will now face Waroona, who comfortably beat Mandurah in their match.
A pair of heart-stoppers rounded out the first week of finals in the open grade, with Pinjarra edging out South Mandurah 39-38 and Baldivis topping Centrals 26-25.
Pinjarra is now through to the grand final while Souths will play Baldivis in the second round of finals, which kicks off at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre this Friday night.
The action kicks off at 6.30pm.
