A new exhibition space in Smart Street Mall will soon shed light on the talents of a collective of local artists when it opens later this year.
Vivid Art Collective is a group of seven professional artists based in the Peel Region who have banded together to give their work a bigger punch in the arts industry.
“The collective has existed in one form or another for almost two years now,” Vivid member Lisa Payton said.
“We’re a non-profit group built around artist networking and giving a voice for artists in the community.”
So far, the collective has gradually gained exposure online, but the lease of a brick-and-mortar space will put them front and centre of the rapidly-developing central business district.
“The main aim of the space is to have a place of our own where artists can exhibit and sell their works, but we also want to build up these artist networks. It’s a space for professional artists to do their thing.”
Vivid Gallery is set to open at 2/3a Smart Street Mall in September or early October.
