The Shire of Murray has lined up some incentives for up-front rate payments, with a pool of over $3830 worth of prizes up for grabs as part of its 2017/18 Rates Incentive Scheme.
Thanks to the support of several local and Perth businesses, ratepayers who pay their rates in full before September 22, 2017, will be automatically entered into the draw to win one of 15 prizes.
For the lucky ratepayer drawn in first place, the Murray Leisure Centre has donated two gold memberships valued at $940.
Thanks to the organisers of the Fairbridge Festival, the second place winner will receive a three day festival pass for two adults and two children up to the age of 17 years, valued at $700.
A two-night weekend stay for two people at Perth Ambassador Hotel in a premium deluxe room including buffet breakfast is up for grabs in third place, valued at $600.
Ratepayers drawn in fourth and fifth place will receive a double pass to Asher Fisch Conducts Schumann, valued at $380, thanks to the West Australian Symphony Orchestra.
The sixth place winner will be wined and dined thanks to a $200 food and beverage voucher from Redcliffe on the Murray, while two Friday Meal and Golf Deals including 12 holes of golf, a shared cart and meal, valued at $110, will be awarded to the winner drawn in seventh place.
Edenvale Heritage Tearooms have sponsored eighth prize, a $100 food and beverage voucher for use at the Tearooms while Pinjarra Tyrepower have donated five wheel alignments for prizes nine to thirteen, each valued at $65.
Pampering is in store for the winners drawn fourteenth and fifteenth, thanks to Murray Hair and Beauty’s donation of two $50 hair and beauty vouchers.
According to Shire President Maree Reid, timely rates payments enable a smoother funding process for projects and allow the Shire to continue strengthening infrastructure and planning for the district’s future.
“Ratepayers are encouraged to support the Rates Incentive Scheme and secure their entry by paying their rates in full before September 22,” she said.
Rates notices will hit mailboxes around August 18.
Ms Reid also encouraged ratepayers to sign up to the Shire’s eRates service in order to receive future rates notices via email.
Ratepayers who would prefer a smoother rates payment process can also register for the Shire’s Rates Smoothing Payment Plan by contacting the Rates Department on (08) 9531 7777, or for BPAY View through their internet banking portal.
