Mandurah police roll out successful operation in the CBD

A new police operation in central Mandurah has seen a number of offenders being arrested and an amount of drugs, weapons and stolen property being seized by the local police team.

The operation was rolled out a week ago and it targets offences such as burglaries and vehicle thefts in the city.

Its main focus is on the central Mandurah district, including the foreshore and the train station, and the surrounding suburbs of Dudley Park, Greenfields and Silver Sands.

Mandurah police senior sergeant Steve Thompson said the the police team was working with business owners and the Forum security team to tackle shoplifting and stealing offences.

He also said they were using intelligence to target known offenders.

So far, the team has seized an amount of drugs, a taser, fake money and stolen items among others.

“[The operation] has received the support of the community and business partners,” Snr-sgt Thompson said.

“So far it has been a successful operation.”
