The Mandurah Magic women stretched their win streak to double-digits when they picked up their 10th consecutive victory with a thumping of the Perth Redbacks on Saturday night.
Celebrating Rachel Halleen’s 250th game, the Magic got the jump on Perth early and maintained their dominance for the remainder of the match, leading scoring for all periods on their way to claim a 90-61 victory.
Offence was flowing in the first quarter with each side making shots as they went toe-to-toe.
Casey Mihovilovich and Nici Gilday both poured in seven points in the opening term while teammate Carly Boag notched six of her own as the Magic was able to finish the period strongly with a four-point lead.
But Mandurah kicked things up a notch in the second, outscoring Perth 24-14 with more blistering efforts from Boag and Gilday.
Both scored eight in the period and had scoring totals of 14 and 15 respectively as the Magic held a 14-point buffer at half time.
Gilday kept her momentum rolling in the third quarter.
The all-star MVP was able to create plenty of offence for her side in the period, hitting shots from the mid-range and beyond the three-point line on her way to 10 points for the term.
Halleen and Rachael Pettit also got involved in the offence as the Magic stretched their advantage to 24 points at the final break.
Cruising with an unassailable lead heading into the fourth, the Magic could have been forgiven for taking their foot off the pedal.
But the team had other ideas in mind as they won the fourth quarter to close out a well-rounded victory and keep their spot atop the league table.
Gilday finished with a game-high 29 points to go along with six rebounds and five assists, while Boag finished with another huge stat line tallying 22 points, 13 rebounds, eight steals and five assists.
Halleen impressed in her milestone game with 11 points, two steals, two assists and two rebounds.
She has played all 250 games with the Mandurah Magic.
