The Peel Pool Association cleaned up at the WA Eight-Ball Federation’s country week championships earlier this month.
Five championship teams, three runners up a third placing and a fourth made up the successful results of Peel’s 10 teams entered.
The association’s division one side made up of Keith Carter (captain), Sam Hart, Tom Martion, Steve Hale and Darren Morris came away with a win, as did Colin Stables (captain), Luke Martin, Ben Doherty, Matt Gilmore, Mark Selvey and Phil Barry in division two.
Martin took out the top average for the second division.
Peel’s teams in division four, six and eight also picked up grand final wins, while the association grabbed runner-up honours in divisions three, nine and 10.
Their side in division five finished third, while a fourth place in division seven rounded out an extremely successful carnival for Peel.
A trio of Peel players in Morris, Hale and Martin represented Peel in the annual country v city match, helping country to its first ever win with a 17-15 victory.
Fellow Peel duo Claire Marsh and Michelle Francis made it to the semi finals in the country ladies singles, while Steve Hale appeared in the quarter finals of the open country singles on Saturday night.
The stunning compilation of wins and finals appearances resulted in Peel taking out the country regional town award.
