Three local Rotary clubs and Halls Head Bendigo Bank have joined forces to raise awareness of what residents can do to reduce the risks of mental illness in their homes.
The Rotary Mental Health Initiative is an evening seminar that brings together the Mandurah Districts, Mandurah City and Mandurah clubs along with a number of local service providers to offer strategies on building a safe and supportive culture at home and to improve knowledge about where to get help.
The initiative will be opened by former Mayor Paddi Creevey and moderated by mayoral candidate Rhys Williams.
“It’s time to overcome the fears associated with mental illness by recognising them, and seeking support and treatment,” a Rotary spokeswoman said.
The event is free, includes light refreshments and booking are not needed.
The Rotary Mental Health Initiative will be held on Thursday, June 8 from 6.30-9.30pm at Bendigo Bank stadium.
