The Mandurah Magic women will be keen to keep the ball rolling after a dominant showing last round when they take on the Joondalup Wolves at home on Friday night.
Mandurah’s women claimed their ninth win from 10 outings when they cruised past the third-placed Stirling Senators last week, and will be out to impress once more against the Wolves.
Joondalup currently sit in seventh on the league table, five spots behind Mandurah who reside in second.
The story
Mandurah need to continue winning if they are to keep in touch with undefeated Perry Lakes Hawks, while the Wolves will be keen to avoid going under 0.500.
Joondalup holds a 5-5 record from their first 10 games, but the Wolves were outstanding in a double-header last weekend with a huge win over Rockingham and a gritty victory over Willetton.
Mandurah also heads into this game in peak shape, after dismantling the Senators.
A battle of in-form teams that both have the potential to be damaging in the finals, this game looms as an epic.
Last time they met
The Magic and Wolves squared off a month ago with Mandurah claiming a massive 99-58 victory.
Carly Boag had 28 points and 11 rebounds as the Magic waltzed their way to a win in Joondalup’s building, but Magic coach Randy Miegel remains ready for a tough test on Friday night.
“They have had some really good wins in recent weeks and they have much more confidence now than they did last time,” he said.
“We expect them to come at us really hard from the get-go and play a really tough game.”
