The Murray State Emergency Service (SES) Awards for 2016 were held on Saturday May 6 at the Murray Unit in Pinjarra.
Ken Argent was awarded the Irene Bell Award for the member deemed to be the best all-round team member.
The Nick Elrick Award for the best Trainer went to Ric Bank.
The Encouragement Award is for the person relatively new to the unit who displays a lot of potential, and the award went to Donna Lewin.
The Outstanding Member Award is for the person who puts in a lot of time into the unit, and was won by Ric Bank.
A long service medal is awarded to volunteers by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) in appreciation of the time put into the emergency services by the volunteers.
Margaret King received a medal for her exceptional efforts over the past 10 years with Murray SES.
A prestigious award was presented to Ric Bank for the Outstanding Volunteer for the South West.
This award is in recognition of the volunteer who is deemed the most outstanding volunteer in the South West region, covering from Capel to North Dandalup.
Peter Norman, DFES Supervisor South West, presented this award to Mr Bank.
