Anzac Day is a special time for most Australians, but one Mandurah resident was left wondering if they were getting a fair shake of the sauce bottle after copping a lunch bill that included $2 for a squirt of tomato ketchup.
In a now deleted Facebook post, the woman said she took her two sons to lunch after the Anzac Day service, bought them fish and chips and was then shocked when she was forced to pay more for a bit of sauce than an entire bottle costs in the shops.
“Un-Australian,” she wrote.
“I paid $10 each for my children’s fish and chips, which is fine, but the $2 each extra for tomato sauce is in poor taste.
“What a joke!”
A debate raged online until the post was removed, but not before it was pointed out that a bottle of sauce at Aldi cost $1.39.
