Mandurah’s cafes, restaurants, and hotels will become temporary art spaces and galleries as part of the city-wide Stretch Art Trail on April and May as part of the Stretch Arts Festival.
Talented artists in the region will partner with Mandurah-based businesses to showcase their work and provide a unique art experience to visitors and residents.
Punters will be able to walk around Mandurah’s iconic waterways, boardwalk, marina and cultural precinct following a trail of bright green window stickers to enjoy watch demonstrations, meet the artists and check out some of the region’s talent.
Some of this year’s participating venues include 3 Hearts Ceramics cafe, Atrium Hotel, Cafe One58, CASM, Falcon library, the Homeless Photography Project transportable gallery, Jacksons Art Supplies, Make Place, Mandurah Community Museum, Mandurah library, Mandurah Visitor Centre, Sacred Earth Sanctuary, Salt Bistro, Samadhi Cafe, Terrace Art Framers, The Bridge Restaurant andTree of Life.
This year’s Art Trail will also extend to Falcon and will run between April 14 and May 21.
Mandurah mayor Marina Vergone said was pleased to see local businesses and the arts sector come together in the lead up to the Stretch Arts Festival.
“As we get closer to festival, it’s great to see local businesses getting behind our local artists to showcase their offerings as part of the Stretch Art Trail,” she said.
The festival organisation promises a Stretch Arts Festival full of new and exciting arts experiences from renowned Australian as well as international international companies and artists.
The busiest days of the festival will be on May 6 and when free art, music, food, markets, performances and outdoor events take over the city.
