With a range of high-profile retailers including Coles, ALDI, Kmart and Liquorland confirmed for the new Lakelands Shopping Centre, hundreds of new local jobs are set to open.
The centre is entering final stages of construction, with tenants taking up leases and preparations underway for the official opening in June.
Supermarket giant Coles will be joined by a host of other leading retailers at the new 20,000 square metre centre including ALDI, Kmart, Coles Express, Liquorland and most recently signed gym operators Plus Fitness 24/7 and fast food outlets KFC and McDonalds.
In addition to the big brand names, the new Lakelands Shopping Centre will also feature a series of specialty shops including a newsagency, nail bar, pharmacy, medical centre, patisserie, surf shop, physiotherapist, childcare centre and Italian restaurant.
The new $50 million centre is set to create hundreds of new local jobs and employment opportunities in the region.
Construction started in February 2016 on the retail centre, which forms part of the wider Lakelands Town Centre development – covering eight hectares in total and including a new community centre and future residential opportunities.
The Coles supermarket will offer a wide range of groceries and include a bakery, deli, seafood and fresh fruit and vegetable departments.
The Kmart store will offer the retailer’s full range of products and the ALDI store will deliver its unique mix of groceries and specialty items.
The new shopping centre will also provide 1,100 car parking bays for shoppers and visitors.
