For those who have problems understanding and maximising their superannuation, the state government’s department of local government and communities (DLGC) will be holding a free superannuation workshop for women in Mandurah in May.
According to DLGC, Australian women of all ages are likely to have significantly less superannuation than men, meaning that that women are less likely than men to live comfortably when they retire.
However, through the workshop, facilitators Lacey Filipich and Fran White hope to teach local women how to understand their super statement, how to reduce fees and how to make a difference to their future income.
The workshop will also include a practical part, applying things such as searching for lost super and reading statements.
Attendees are invited to bring along any documentation and electronic devices to log into the myGov website and their superannuation accounts.
The free event will be hold at Make Place at 6pm on May 10.
