Emergency crews were called to Greenacre Street, Pinjarra, on Friday night after residents were woken by explosions.
An eye witness reported a number of small explosions around midnight, followed by louder ones as a car was engulfed by flames in the middle of the street.
Fire crews extinguished the flames.
It is not known how the car caught fire, but it is understood no one responsible for the vehicle was at the scene at the time emergency crews arrived.
