Pinjarra Football Club product Kamdyn McIntosh will make his return to AFL football after being named in Richmond’s round one side to take on Carlton on Thursday night.
The former Peel Thunder player appeared in six games for the Tigers in 2016 before an ankle injury sustained in a training incident derailed his season.
McIntosh, who has played 29 games with the Tigers since being drafted in 2012, has been named on a half back flank for the Tigers’ season opener against the Blues.
He was crucial for the side in the early rounds of 2016, and will be hoping for an uninterrupted campaign this time around.
Meanwhile, fellow Pinjarra football product Harley Bennell continues to work towards his AFL return with the Fremantle Dockers.
Fremantle high performance manager Jason Weber said Bennell was nearing a return to full team training.
“Harley’s doing a really good job at the moment,” Weber told the Dockers’ website.
“He’s back to basically one-on-one football.
“He’s working really hard and we’re hoping to get him back into football team training in the next couple of weeks.”
The Dockers expect Bennell to return to the field in the “early rounds” of the season.
It is likely he will make his way back to senior football through Peel Thunder.
