With rain wrecking havoc on Saturday both the under 13s and 14s semi finals of the Peel Junior Cricket Association resulted in default wins to the higher placing sides heading into the weekend.
In the 13s this sets up a grand final between Secret Harbour Dockers and White Knights Baldivis, while in the under 14s the undefeated Hillman will play Mandurah on Saturday morning.
Meanwhile Sunday morning saw greatly improved weather for the 15s and 17s as eight sides faced off for a place in the grand finals.
In the 15s Halls Head (9/143) managed a tight win over the Secret Harbour Dockers (10/128) thanks to an impressive all round performance with Nathan Howell top scoring with 30* followed by Darren Beard with 20, while Andrew Nash shone with the ball taking 4/19 from five overs.
The win ensures Halls Head progress through to this weekend’s grand final against Pinjarra who defeated Kwinana Junior in a close game.
In the under 17s, White Knights Baldivis (3/256) cruised to victory over Mandurah Junior (105) thanks to a strong team performance with both the bat and ball which saw three Baldivis batsmen score half centuries in Mitchell Steele, Ben Merrifield and Ryan O’Keeffe, while Mitch Rohland and Joseph Sellwood dominated with the ball taking 3/8 and 3/20 respectively.
White Knights will take on Halls Head in the grand final after the third-placed Halls Head defeated second-placed Shoalwater Bay.
All grand finals for the Peel Junior Cricket Association will be held at Lark Hill Sports Complex over the weekend, starting from 7.30am on Saturday morning, followed by a 10am start on Sunday for the 15s and 17s.
They will be followed by the senior grand finals.
