Peel Thunder has named its side of 25 to take on East Perth in a mini-derby for their WAFL season opener on Saturday night.
Thirteen Dockers were named in the Peel line-up, while the Royals will field 18 West Coast players.
The Thunder will be buoyed by the experience of Fremantle regulars Tommy Sheridan and Nick Suban, while seasoned West Coast player’s Sam Butler, Jack Redden and Will Schofield headline East Perth’s squad.
New Dockers and Eagles draftees will also get their first taste of playing with their affiliate clubs.
Fremantle’s pick eight Griffin Logue will line up at centre-half-back for the Thunder with fellow draftees Sean Darcy and Brennan Cox named to ruck and centre-half-forward respectively.
For the Eagles, their top two picks Daniel Venables and Josh Rotham have been named for East Perth.
A couple of youngsters will get their chance to shine early for Peel, with Traye Bennell named on a wing and Calvin Thorne named to the extended interchange.
Peel Football League product Blair Bell, who topped Peel’s goal-scoring tally in 2016, will line up on the forward flank.
Leroy Jetta will make his return to league football after serving a year-long suspension following Essendon’s anti-doping saga in 2016.
