Fitness enthusiasts hitting the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre’s (MARC) new gym in March will contribute towards donating a piece of fitness equipment to a community organisation in need.
The initiative is part of Technogym’s Let’s Move for a Better World campaign, a yearly project which encourages people to work out and get into shape to support a local charity.
This is the forth year the fitness brand holds the campaign, which attracted 513 clubs and 122,000 participants in 2016, who burnt a total of 170 million calories.
This year, the City’s recreation centre will be one of the gyms to take part in the campaign, with members and visitors having the opportunity to register and donate their physical activity to the cause.
Between March 13 and 31, gym-goers using the centre’s new Technogym equipment will be able to download the My Wellness app on their phone, track their moves, and donate them to the campaign.
Each move donated will be added to the MARC’s overall donation, and will get the centre one step closer to winning fitness equipment for a local charity.
The more active the users are, the bigger the donation.
“The health and wellness benefits of exercise is well understood but sometimes with our busy lifestyles we need an extra push in the right direction,” Marina Vergone said.
“This campaign provides a fun way to get healthy and support local charity interchange.”
