Mandurah’s local economy is set to benefit from a $5.5 million boost thanks to the city’s signature event; the Mandurah Crab Fest.
“The City’s signature event provides a significant injection into the local economy but it’s also a great way to shows-off our great city, stunning waterways and local produce,” Mandurah mayor Marina Vergone said.
“As we get closer to Mandurah’s biggest weekend, it’s great to see local businesses stepping up to get the most out of Crab Fest.”
The Mandurah Crab Fest is the largest free regional event in Western Australia attracting more than 120,000 visitors every year.
The main festival is free to attend all weekend long and it provides an opportunity for local organisations and businesses to gain additional exposure.
Ms Vergone said that building local business capacity was a key focus of the festival through ticketed food experiences, entertainment, special events and stalls.
“The Progressive Dinner Cruise is a great example of how the City launched the experience and have now handed it over to a local business to take the reins,” she said.
On March 17, Mandurah Cruises will take over the Progressive Dinner Cruise event.
The event will give residents and visitors the possibility to enjoy Mandurah’s stunning waterways while eating the dishes of some of the city’s biggest restaurants on board of a cruise.
This year’s cruise will feature Stage Door Waterfront Restaurant, Catch 22 Tapas and Cocktail Lounge and Mandurah Quay Resort.
