Primary producers living and working in the Murray region can now apply for the Shire of Murray’s Primary Producers Rates Concessions 2017/18.
Eligible participants are primary producers who reside in Murray, operate an approved rural pursuit and pay Shire rates on rural zoned land.
They must have generated and claimed an assessable primary production income of more than $20,000 from the property in their tax return last financial year.
“The concession compliments the Shire’s Murray 2025 Strategic Community Plan,” Shire of Murray chief Dean Unsworth said.
“It aims to incentivise and facilitate sustainable primary production in our Shire.
“The incentive further establishes the Shire of Murray as an attractive environment for businesses to establish and grow, thereby stimulating economic development and Shire appeal.”
