With sunny weather returning to the region round 13 of the Peel Junior Cricket Association got underway over the weekend with South Mandurah defeating Warnbro Swans in the under 13s competition.
South Mandurah batted first and posted a whopping 8/204 from just 26 overs.
Adam Booth was the best of Warnbro’s bowlers taking 2/13 supported by Tryon Powles and Joshua Scott who took 2/16 and 2/13 respectively.
Despite their best efforts, Warnbro could only manage 7/99 from their 26 overs with Tryon Powles top scoring with 32 for the Swans.
Meanwhile in the under 14s competition Secret Harbour were defeated by South Mandurah at Meadow Springs turf.
Secret Harbour batted first and were bowled out for 82 thanks to some impressive South Mandurah bowling, Thomas Meerton top scored for with 14.
It was an impressive all-round bowling performance from South Mandurah with eight players all taking at least one wicket, with Matthew Boyd leading the way with 2/11.
In reply South Mandurah were bowled out for 115 after 29.1 overs with Matthew Boyd top scoring with 28* and Corey Cashell-Tregenza 18.
Noah Carmody led the way for Secret Harbour with the ball taking 4/7 in an inspired bowling performance but it wasn’t quite enough to deny South Mandurah a victory.
Finally in the Peel Perth Scorchers under 13 Girls League Secret Harbour Docketr White were defeated by Warnbro-Baldivis.
The Dockers batted first and scored 6/118 from their 20 overs.
In reply, Warnbro-Baldivis narrowly got home scoring 4/121 from their 20 overs in a nail biting finish.
