An additional 700 new shaded car bays are now available at the Mandurah Forum after the centre opened a new rooftop carpark and access ramps as part of their $350 million redevelopment this week.
The new rooftop carpark can be accessed through ramps on Pinjarra Road and recently upgraded Clarice Street, and features new travelators to access directly to Coles and Kmart.
It also features a parkassist system similar to the one in the multi-deck carpark, which indicates customers the number of parking bays available in each section, and has a set of dedicated parents with prams and ACROD bays available.
“Our new parking facilities make it quicker and easier for our guests to find a parking space which is key to providing an improved customer experience,” Forum manager Jacqueline McKenzie said.
“Our customers told us they wanted the convenience of shaded parking, more entries and exits and a modern parking system which is why we’ve invested in these state of the art facilities.”
There are currently more than 1,500 new parking bays at the shopping centre as part of the Forum’s upgrade, with the number set to reach 3,000 by the end of the redevelopment works.
To celebrate the opening of the rooftop carpark, the Forum is holding a draw to give shoppers the chance to win free groceries for a whole year valued at $10,000.
Shoppers can participate in the draw by placing their entry ballot in a barrel outside Coles, the competition will run from Feburary 15 to March 30.
From February 17 to Feburary 19, customers will also be able to enjoy live acoustic music while checking out retailer stalls, testing their luck at the spin and win wheel, and enjoying free family-friendly activities as part of the centre’s Market Days.
Free activities include glitter tattoos, funky hair colour dyeing, face panting and fairy floss.
