Mandurah Performing Arts Centre (MPAC) has launched their 2017 season in style, with a full range of shows and experience once again proving why MPAC is so nationally regarded.
Nothing quite compares to the anticipation and excitement of live performance, of sitting in a theatre as the lights go down and the action starts up. With a selection that will not disappoint, the MPAC staff are sure audiences will be delighted.
“It is such a thrill to announce these shows for the beginning of a big year for Mandurah Performing Arts Centre, as we turn 20 in 2017,” MPAC general manager Guy Boyce said.
“Starting with comedy, music and mayhem, the only Blues Brothers Revue to be officially sanctioned by Judith Belushi along with Dan Ackroyd, is a fabulous concert experience for the whole family.”
The West Australian Symphony Orchestra also returns this year with a show that captures the symbiosis of music, art and nature, following on from the Mandjar Art Awards.
Four years ago, the famously talented David Helfgott graced the MPAC stage, and he returns in 2017 to celebrate the 21st anniversary of Shine, the Geoffrey Rush-starring, Academy Award-winning film based on his life story.
After forging a dazzling country music career that has won her 6 Golden Guitars, Australian favourite, Melinda Schneider steps back in time to pay homage to one of her musical heroes, Doris Day, and following standing ovations across the country, hear Naomi Price tell Adele’s deliciously frank life story come alive in the words of this world-class performer backed by an electrifying seven-piece band.
Rounding off the first six months, MPAC presents Dracula, the Gothic horror story by the critically-acclaimed shake & stir theatre co.
