The man has been charged with murder.
WA Police have charged a 38-year-old Halls Head man with murder after an argument during the early hours of Saturday morning turned violent.
Police were called to an altercation at a residential unit block on Valley Road at around 2am on Saturday morning.
A 40-year-old man died as a result of his injuries, and a 32-year-old woman remains in hospital.
Despite earlier reports, police said the offender was not known to the two victims.
The man has been charged with one count of murder and one count of attempted murder.
He will appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Sunday.
