A man is dead and a woman remains in hospital following a violent incident in Halls Head overnight.
Police were called to Blue Bay Apartments about 2am on Saturday, with reports of three people involved in a physical altercation.
A man in his 40s sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Peel Health Campus.
He died a short time later.
Also taken to the Mandurah hospital was a woman in her 30s.
She reportedly suffered minor injuries.
Local police and officers from the Major Crime Squad remain at the Valley Road property today, with forensic police also at the apartments.
Police said a man in his 30s is currently helping detectives with their inquiries, but it is understood no charges have yet been laid.
